Flavor Text
It was a mere statue. Though it could bestow no wings, it lightened the pilgrims' hearts. Though it could not move, it freed the pilgrims' souls. Their faith in it was strong, for the statue gave them just as much of a response as everything else they had ever believed in.
Evolved Flavor Text
Venerated by the people, the statue was showered with prayers. But the statue did not respond, for it was not alive. It did not devour human sacrifices, nor did it give birth to offspring. From the very beginning, it had only ever been a mere statue.
