Pokemon's Alakazam Dudunsparce Deck Gets Changes: Eri In, Pikipek Out
Alakazam Dudunsparce rebuilt its list this week, with Eri rocketing to 75% of decklists as Pikipek fades to just over 1 in 5.

Pokemon TCG's Alakazam Dudunsparce deck saw a few changes in the usage of 12 cards this week, making it one of the biggest shifts in the data. Two cards in particular lead the change: Eri and Pikipek.
Eri went from appearing in roughly 1 in 6 Alakazam Dudunsparce lists to nearly 3 out of 4. It sat at 15.3% for the week ending August 10, then hovered around 18% for the next two weeks. Last week, that jumped to 41.7%. This week, it reached 74.9%. That's not a gradual rise. In just two weeks, Eri went from a relatively uncommon inclusion to a staple in most Alakazam Dudunsparce lists.
Pikipek, the basic Pokémon that eventually evolves into Toucannon, moved in the opposite direction. Three weeks ago, it appeared in most lists, with its usage ranging from 62% to 74%. This week, it is down to just 21.2%. Interestingly, its average number of copies hasn't changed, staying at 1.9 throughout the entire period. So, some list are still playing Toucannon, an engine of the deck.
Alakazam Dudunsparce had one of the biggest shifts this week, but it wasn't the only archetype going through major changes. Fifteen others had eight or more cards move significantly, including Mega Darkrai.
Worth noting is that the number of Alakazam Dudunsparce lists stayed relatively steady throughout all of this. There were 382 lists this week, compared with between 314 and 368 over the previous four weeks.
| Week ending | Alakazam Dudunsparce lists | Eri in lists | Avg copies |
|---|---|---|---|
| 08-10 | 314 | 15.3% | 1 |
| 08-17 | 368 | 17.7% | 1.1 |
| 08-24 | 338 | 18% | 1.1 |
| 08-31 | 350 | 41.7% | 1.1 |
| 09-07 | 382 | 74.9% | 1.1 |
Elsewhere, N's Zoroark went through a similar shakeup. Team Rocket's Watchtower jumped from 22.8% of lists to 52.3%, while its average copy count climbed from 1.2 to 2.2. So not only are more N's Zoroark decks playing the card, but those that do are also playing more copies. Judge saw a similar rise, going from 8.7% to 30.9% of lists over the same period. Like Alakazam Dudunsparce, N's Zoroark was part of this week's wider reshuffle.
