Blue/Purple Still Leads Gundam’s Newtype Challenge Meta

Gundam Card Game’s latest Newtype Challenge 2026 Mission 3 Japan's store data is out, covering the week of June 15 to June 21, and the top of the format looks very familiar.

Blue/Purple remains the most played deck at 21.5%, barely moving from last week’s 21.3%. It has been sitting above 20% for multiple weeks now, and even with other decks shifting around it, Blue/Purple is still the default top choice.

The bigger movement is right behind it. Red/White climbed again, going from 18.6% to 18.9%, keeping its spot as the second most played deck. It is not a huge jump, but after several strong weeks and Alex Robertson’s Red/White Neo Zeong win in Barcelona, the deck clearly is a staple of the format.

Blue/White also moved up slightly, from 13.6% to 13.8%, while Green/White stayed exactly the same at 13.0%. Those two continue to form the next tier of the metagame, giving the format a pretty stable top four.

The decks that slipped the most were Blue/Green, down from 9.6% to 9.1%, and Purple/White, down from 8.5% to 8.1%. Neither drop is massive, but it does show some players moving away from those options while Blue/Purple, Red/White, and Blue/White hold steady or gain a little ground.

Overall, this week’s report does not show a big shakeup. Instead, it confirms the same story we have been seeing lately: Blue/Purple is still the deck to beat, Red/White is close behind, and the rest of the field is adjusting in small steps rather than big swings. With Eternal Nexus releasing soon (finally!!), this might be one of the last clean looks at the current GD04 store meta before new cards start changing the conversation.
