Card Spotlight: Purple Gets More Tools in Freedom Ascension
Gundam Exia Repair and Widespread Annihilation give Purple two new tools in Freedom Ascension.

Gundam Card Game revealed two new Purple cards from Freedom Ascension, and they look good, especially if you already like the Celestial Being / GN Drive side of Purple.
The first one is Gundam Exia Repair, a cheap Lv.2 / cost 1 Unit with 2 AP and 1 HP. Its effect is: when it deals battle damage to an enemy Unit that is Lv.4 or lower and does not have a paired Pilot, it destroys that Unit. Then, when Exia Repair is destroyed, you place the top 2 cards of your deck into your trash.

That second part is what's interesting. Purple already has cards interacting with the trash, with Gundam Exia (Trans-Am) being one. Trans-Am wants 10 or more CB cards in your trash before its extra destruction effect activates, and Exia Repair could help with that while also being a CB / GN Drive Unit itself. It is not a huge burst of setup, but it is a cheap early card that can trade, pressure smaller Units, and still leave value behind when it goes down.

The other reveal is Widespread Annihilation, a Lv.6 / cost 6 Command that destroys all Units that are Lv.4 or lower. That is a big reset button, and it looks especially interesting in decks built around larger Purple threats. Cards like Gundam Exia (Trans-Am) naturally survive it, but those who came earlier (like Blockers), will get annihilated.

There is a catch, of course. Widespread Annihilation also hits your own Lv.4 or lower Units, so it is not something you can just throw in without thinking. But in the right build, that can even be part of the plan: clear the board, load the trash, and leave your bigger finishers ready to take over.
Freedom Ascension releases later this month on July 24.
