Pokémon Pocket Resets: Online Numbers Show Three New Decks at the Top

The Pokémon TCG Pocket Online meta looks like a different format than it did a week ago. Data from Play Limitless reveals that Miraidon ex Magnezone, last week's runaway leader at 9.1%, fell all the way to 3.3% (down 5.8 points), and the three decks that now sit on top were nowhere in the previous capture. These three feature cards from the newest Ruler of the Skies set. Gouging Fire Dragonair (7.2%), Mega Manectric ex Heliolisk (6.1%), and Vespiquen ex Shuckle ex (5.6%) all debuted straight into the top three, and each already has a first-place finish to its name.

Ruler of the Skies' Dragonair is a common card across many of the newest decks. Beyond Gouging Fire, this Energy accelerator appears in Dragonair Mega Rayquaza ex (3.7%), Mega Rayquaza ex Dragonair (2.8%), and Dragonair Altaria (1.3%).

On the other hand, several decks went down a little bit. The Mega Sableye ex pairings took the hardest hit, with Greninja Mega Sableye ex down 2.9 points to 0.7% and Hydreigon Mega Sableye ex down 2.1 to 0.8%. Suicune ex Baxcalibur held better than most, slipping 1.6 points but staying in the top eight at 3.3%.

As for the sample itself, more players showed up this week (2,430 tagged decks, up from 1,462), which is expected following a new release. Over the new few weeks, we'll see if these newer archetypes are the ones to watch or if they were a one-week wonder.
