Pokémon Reveals Storm Emeralda, Japan’s Next Set
Storm Emeralda brings Mega Rayquaza ex, paired Stadium cards, and new Rayquaza-themed support.

Pokémon has revealed more details for Japan’s next Pokémon Card Game MEGA expansion, Storm Emeralda, releasing on July 31, 2026.
The headline card is Mega Rayquaza ex, a Basic Colorless Mega Evolution Pokémon. Its Ability, Champion’s Roar, lets you look at the top 4 cards of your deck when you play it from hand to the Bench and attach one Basic Energy you find there to Mega Rayquaza ex. It is not an explosive acceleration effect, but being a Basic Pokémon makes the card easier to build around than some other Megas. Its attack, Storm Emeralda, scales its damage based on the number of Fire and Lightning Energy attached to all of your Pokémon in play. All of them, not just to Rayquaza.

That gives the card a pretty clear direction: build Energy across the board, then let Mega Rayquaza turn that into a massive attack.
The set also introduces Legendary Summit, a new two-card Stadium that is played by combining its left and right halves from hand, similar to the Legends cards from the HeartGold/SoulSilver expansion. The new stadium reduces the number of Prize cards taken when Colorless Pokémon (such as the new Rayquaza) are Knocked Out by attack damage.

A few support cards were also shown. Talonflame ex can go from hand to the Bench if you have a Colorless Mega Evolution ex in play, while Adventure Lantern searches a Basic Fire Energy and a Basic Lightning Energy. Zinnia's Trust also fits the Rayquaza plan by switching your Active Pokémon and moving an Energy from the Pokémon that moved to the Bench onto the new Active. This one will definitely see some play.
The set also has more direct Rayquaza support. Mega Rayquaza Cap is Tool that gives the Pokémon the card is attached to the Delta Gift attack. Its effect says "Attach 1 Basic Energy card from your deck to each of your Pokémon that has a Mega Rayquaza Cap attached to it. Then shuffle your deck." It costs one Colorless Energy.

Storm Emeralda will be part of the upcoming Mega Evolution: Delta Reign English set, which releases on November 6, 2026.
