Two players go 9-0 on Day 1 at Baltimore
Matthew Dennery and Alexander Chea led the 3,122-player Masters field of 30% Dragapult.

Matthew Dennery and Alexander Chea were the only Masters players to finish Day 1 of the 2027 Baltimore Regional Championships undefeated, each going 9-0 through nine Swiss rounds.
Baltimore drew 3,122 Masters players, and 556 reached Day 2 at the 16-point cut; a 5-3-1 record was enough to qualify. Just behind Dennery and Chea, Nicholas Cucinelli, Ray Cipoletti and Ian Frost finished at 8-0-1, with ten more players at 8-1.
Day 2 continues shortly with 5 more rounds before top cut. With 556 players advancing, the two undefeated runs lead a crowded chase rather than a small handful of contenders. Day 1 most popular deck was Dragapult, but will it take the first regional of the season? We'll know in a few hours.
